Start with the first step that looks wrong. Keep the Smart Link name, visit time, and any event identifier nearby while you check.
The link opens the wrong place
Section titled “The link opens the wrong place”- Open the Smart Link and check whether it says Live, Draft ahead, or Not published. Publish the current draft if the change should affect new visitors.
- Use Test route with an example visitor. Check which Flow was selected and why.
- Check Flow order. The first matching Flow wins. A condition with an unknown value cannot count as a match.
- Check the Default Flow, When no flow matches, and the Fallback URL.
- Open the public URL in the actual app and phone where the problem occurs. The preview cannot test that handoff.
A visit is missing
Section titled “A visit is missing”Check that you opened the public URL for the intended Project and that the link has a published route. Then look in Logs → Clicks with the right date range. A recent visit may take time to appear in a report, so start with the log.
If the link cannot open on a real device, record the source app, phone, public URL, and what the visitor saw. That gives your team a reproducible case.
A conversion is missing
Section titled “A conversion is missing”- Find the visit in Logs → Clicks.
- Check Logs → Postbacks for a message from the service that knows the outcome.
- Check whether the message carried the right click ID and conversion type.
- Look in Logs → Conversions for the recorded outcome.
If no message arrived, ask the sending service to check its setup. If a message arrived but was rejected, use the reason shown in the postback log to correct it.
A platform does not show the conversion
Section titled “A platform does not show the conversion”First find the conversion in Logs → Conversions. Then check Logs → Deliveries for the Pixel or partner. If no delivery exists, check whether the Smart Link uses an active Pixel and whether the conversion type is mapped. If a delivery failed, inspect its last response and retry state. A receiving platform can also take time to show an accepted event in its own reports.
