Offer pages and app links

Show an offer card or a short quiz before the browser handoff, and open your app or its store from one link.

Two destination types help when a visitor arrives inside a social app: a short offer page shown before the visitor leaves the app’s browser, and Open app or store, which opens your app or its App Store or Google Play page.

Choose Open a website, then under Before it opens pick An offer card or A quiz. Select Preview to see the page as a visitor’s phone receives it, in the language you choose above it. Select Edit page to write the page; the preview next to the fields shows the same page while you type.

  • Offer card — an optional image, a title, a short text, a price and a button label.
  • Quiz — one to three questions, each with two to four answers, shown one at a time. After the last answer, the visitor sees the button.

The page opens inside the app’s own browser. When the visitor taps the button, TapBaton opens your destination in the visitor’s own browser, the same way it does for any website opened from an in-app browser. If that does not work, the visitor sees an Open in browser button. It does not try on arrival, so the visitor reads your page first. Opening in another browser is not guaranteed on every app and phone.

Good to know:

  • Your words are shown exactly as you type them. The page’s own words — the progress line, the default button label, the “open outside the app” note and the message shown when opening does not work — follow the visitor’s language (English, Ukrainian or Russian), and its light or dark setting.
  • The image address must start with https://. The page can load images only from that address’s site.
  • The page loads no third-party scripts and no browser pixel.
  • Quiz answers are kept per visit as the answer that was chosen, never as free text. They are kept when the visitor taps the button and the page can reach TapBaton’s next step; a visit that copies the address by hand keeps none.
  • A page is part of what you publish. Editing it changes nothing live until you publish again.

In Edit page, turn on Send a page view to this link’s pixels to send one server-side page view per visit when the page opens. It goes to the pixels connected under Pixels and attached to this Smart Link — Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest and Reddit, as their view-content or page-visit event. The same pixel rules apply as for conversions: a visit from one ad network does not reach another network’s pixel, and bot visits reach only pixels set to receive them.

A page view is not a conversion. It does not appear under Conversions and is not counted as a billed event. You can see each one in Logs → Deliveries, marked as a page view.

Choose Open an app, then pick App or store as the application. Fill in what applies:

  • iPhone and iPad — your app’s universal link (https://…) or custom scheme (yourapp://…), and its App Store address.
  • Android — the package name (such as com.example.app), a deep link to open, and the Google Play address. The Google Play address is filled in from the package name.
  • Website for other devices — optional. Computers and other devices go here; without it they get a store page.
  • Offer the store after — how long the page waits after trying the app before it offers the store.

On iPhone, the visitor sees a button that opens your app. After the wait, an Open in App Store choice appears. The App Store opens only when the visitor taps it.

On Android, the button opens your app through its package. If the app is not installed, Android can open Google Play instead, and an Open in Google Play choice appears after the wait.

Whether the app opens depends on the phone, the app’s own link settings and the browser the visitor is in. Test on the phones and apps your audience uses before a campaign.

Deferred deep linking — opening a specific screen on the first launch after an install — needs an SDK inside your app. Open app or store does not include it: after an install, the app opens on its normal start screen.

Choose Open an app, then choose Telegram as the application. Under Where it opens, choose where the link goes:

  • Chat with a bot opens your bot with /start and a reference to the click.
  • Mini App opens your bot’s Mini App, with a reference to the click as its start parameter.
  • Channel, group or other link opens any Telegram link as you write it. It does not carry the click.

The first two let TapBaton match a start, a channel join, a Stars payment or a Mini App event to the click. Track Telegram conversions explains how to connect the bot.

  1. Use Test route with the device and app your audience uses. For App or store, the result shows the first step for that device.
  2. Publish, then open the public link from the real app on a real phone.
  3. Check Logs → Clicks for the visit, and Logs → Deliveries for any page view you turned on.
