Telegram links and postbacks

Open a Telegram bot or Mini App from a Smart Link and report outcomes with ordinary conversion postbacks.

A Smart Link can open a bot, a Mini App, a channel or a group. To record an outcome in Telegram, the service that runs your bot or Mini App sends a conversion postback.

  1. In the flow’s destination, choose Telegram.
  2. Choose Chat with a bot or Mini App and enter the bot’s username. For a Mini App, enter its short name or leave it empty for the main Mini App.
  3. The link passes the click identifier in start or startapp. Keep this value in your bot builder or application so you can report the outcome later.

A channel or group link opens as entered and does not receive a click identifier automatically.

  1. In Conversions, create the conversion types you need, such as a lead, a channel join or a sale.
  2. Copy your Project’s postback URL.
  3. In your bot builder or application server, send a request when that outcome happens. Use the received start parameter as click_id, and the conversion type’s key as status. For a sale, also send its value and currency.

SaleBot, BotHelp and other services use this same postback flow. Set up conversion tracking.
