Send conversions to an ad platform

Connect a Pixel and choose which Smart Links use it.

A Pixel in TapBaton is a connection that sends conversion events to an advertising platform. Add the platform connection to a Project, then choose which Smart Links use it.

  1. Open Pixels in your Project.
  2. Add a Pixel and choose the platform.
  3. Enter the details that platform asks for. The fields change with the platform.
  4. Map your TapBaton conversion types to the event names the platform expects.
  5. Save the Pixel and choose it in each Smart Link that should send events to it.

A Project can have more than one Pixel. Keep a Pixel paused while you are preparing it, then activate it when the details and event names are ready.

Google Ads expects a Consent Mode signal on conversions from the EEA. TapBaton shows visitors no consent banner and does not read anyone’s choice, so the signal is one setting on the Pixel: your own statement for every event it sends.

  1. Open the Google Ads Pixel and find Consent signal.
  2. Choose Granted or Refused to send that value with every event, or leave Don’t send, the default, to send no consent fields.
  3. Save the Pixel.

Choose Granted only if your own consent record says visitors agreed. Other platforms get no consent fields, and no event is held back because of consent.

First confirm the conversion in Logs → Conversions. Then open Logs → Deliveries and find the attempt to send it. A delivery can succeed, fail, or be retried. The receiving platform may still take time to display an accepted event in its own reports.

If no delivery appears, check that the Pixel is active, that the Smart Link uses it, and that the conversion type is mapped. If a delivery failed, the delivery log is the place to start. Troubleshoot a missing platform event.

A Smart Link can also use a postback to send a conversion to a tracking partner. Configure it in the Smart Link’s Tracking settings. Choose the event and give TapBaton the address supplied by that partner. Ask the partner which details its address expects; each partner can use different names.
