TapBaton connects three things: the link a visitor opens, the destination chosen for that visit, and any result you receive afterward.
One link can have several routes
Section titled “One link can have several routes”Imagine you run one campaign link. You want visitors from TikTok to open one page, visitors from Instagram to open another, and everyone else to open your main page. You create a Flow for each specific audience and keep a Default Flow for everyone else.
When someone opens the Smart Link, TapBaton checks the Flows from top to bottom. The first matching Flow chooses the destination. If TapBaton cannot tell whether a required condition matches, it continues to the next Flow. Set up Flows.
The browser can affect what happens next
Section titled “The browser can affect what happens next”A link opened inside a social app may behave differently from the same link opened in a regular browser. TapBaton can choose a website, app, or configured sequence and can show a fallback when the preferred route cannot be used. The phone, browser, app, and visitor’s choice still affect the final result.
A Test route result shows what your draft would choose for a sample visitor. A real visit on a device is the way to check the actual handoff. Read about browser handoff.
Results are separate steps
Section titled “Results are separate steps”A click means TapBaton recorded a visit to your link. A conversion is an outcome you decide to track, such as a lead or sale, sent back with that click’s identifier. A delivery is TapBaton’s attempt to pass that conversion to an ad platform or another destination.
You can see these steps in Logs and compare results in Analytics. A click does not by itself prove a conversion. A recorded conversion does not by itself prove that an ad platform received it.
